Who are We?
We are originally from the Netherlands, but live already more than 17 years in the United Kingdom. We have two grown up children, twins, Sanne and Robin who have just finished their studies. Janneke is a Nordic Walking Instructor and Erwin works in IT. We live in a small village in the Peak District in Derbyshire

As the COVID pandemic makes travel uncertain, we decided to start our sabbatical on home turf in the United Kingdom. We never properly visited Northern Ireland and thought that would be an interesting area to go to first. It would give us a chance to try out our new motorhome and get to know a part of the UK that we didn't really know much about. Have a look at the journey we made and the sights we saw. Northern Ireland really surprised us, specially in terms of natural beauty.

Our big Summer 2021 adventure was to travel just over 6 weeks through Spain. To avoid unnecessary border crossings and Covid complexity we chose to take the direct ferry from Portsmouth to Santander. We travelled through Spain clockwise through the pyrenees and following the coast line. Spain is fantastic. Beautiful nature, interesting history, beautiful beaches, great food. The facilities for motorhomes are quite extraordinary with most towns having special facilities for motorhomes and although wild camping is forbidden, many places allow parking for the night. We thoroughly enjoyed Spain.

It has always been on our bucket list to travel in South America. We chose to first visit Chile, a hugely divers country with stunning nature. From Chile we visited Antarctica, always a dream and it certainly didn't disappoint. Finally we explored the nature and culture of Peru. Read about our adventures and hopefully you get an impression how beautiful and diverse this part of the world is.

Our Motorhome is a Benimar T482 based on a Ford Transit chassis. We like the interior setup with two double beds that come down electrically allowing us to have two seating areas and a lot of living space. We are fairly new to 'motor homing' except for a few US/Canada/NZ trips with hire vehicles. In this section we will share our learnings with our motorhome.
